Rishikesh is a religious and adventurous place in India. This place is also known as the gateway to the Himalayas.
Rishikesh is a naturally attractive, adventurous, and sacred place in the lower Himalayas. It just takes 6 hours from Delhi to visit Rishikesh.
I began my trip on Friday night and visited Rishikesh on Saturday Morning. I spent Saturday camping, and I was free on Sunday afternoon. You can also read Temples in Rishikesh.
I have visited there in my car as a car is the best option for the Rishikesh trip and can go anywhere by car. You can also visit Rishikesh through regular buses from Delhi to Rishikesh.
Initially, I have decided to go via a flight because it was an easy option and the airport is also not so far from Rishikesh Town.
Moreover, you can also go via train from Delhi Railway station to Haridwar railway station. I have thoroughly enjoyed it here for two days.

Rishikesh Tourist Place
Rishikesh is the best tourist place in India as the town has lots of adventurous places to Explore.
Rishikesh is the sacred town located at the convergence of two holy rivers named River Ganga and River Chandrabhaga.
You can start travelling to four Chota Char Dham in Uttarakhand. As I only had two days for this trip, so I have not travelled to Chota Char Dham pilgrimage.
Due to famous temples, ashrams, river rafting, yoga and meditation, and other adventurous activities, Rishikesh points of interest among the natives of India.

Best Time to Visit Rishikesh
I have visited Rishikesh from Delhi to enjoy adventurous activities here just in two days. The best time to visit Rishikesh is all months of the year except January.
In the month of September, the temperature in Rishikesh remains at 32-degrees Celsius.

There are lots of adventurous places to see in Rishikesh. You may have seen in most of the movies that Rishikesh is famous for Laxman Jhula.

Laxman Jhula
Location: 48GH+HVP, Rishikesh, Uttarakhand 249302
Laxman Jhula is a 450 ft long swing bridge on the River Ganga in Rishikesh. I have seen the beautiful scenic view of River Ganga, temples, and Ashrams.
It is said that Laxman, the young brother of Lord Rama, has used this Laxman Jhula to pass the River Ganga. You can read also
Laxman Jhula is also known as Engineering Marble. This Jhula swings a lot because there is no pillar in this Laxman Jhula.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has established this Beatles Ashram. This Ashram is located inside the Rajaji National Park at the Bank of River Ganga.

This ashram is known by the name of Chaurasi Kutiya among the local people of Rishikesh.

Shivpuri
Shivpuri is a small village in Rishikesh which is 15 km away from the city. The town is devoted to Lord Shiva, and there are many temples of Lord Shiva in this village.
It is because the city was named as Shivpuri. This small village is located at the Bank of River Ganga.
Shivpuri is famous for River-rafting. The river-rafting from Shivpuri to Rishikesh is very famous among Indians. You can read also Best Places to Visit in Dehradun.
Rishikesh river rafting is one of the great adventurous activities that I did in Shivpuri. The place of river rafting is renowned for its calm and beautiful environment.
I have also enjoyed trekking and bonfire in Shivpuri. The water in the river was very cool because it was coming from melting glaciers.

Neelkanth Mahadev Temple

This temple is situated at the meeting point of Pankaj and Madhumakhi which is 12 km away from the town Rishikesh. This is a famous religious place to visit in Rishikesh.
This Neelkanth Mahadev temple is situated at the height of almost 1300 km from the sea level on the hill.
It is said that the incident of Samundar Manthan took place at this temple. And also Lord Shiva has drunk Vish at this place. It is because the name of Neelkanth Mahadev Temple is known as this place.
Most tourists and devotees visit here at the time of Maha Shivratri and in the month of Shravan means in the months of July and August.

Triveni Ghat
Location: Jairam Ashram Marg, Rishikesh, Uttarakhand 249201
Triveni Ghat is a famous Place to visit in Rishikesh. Triveni Ghat is the place where three holy rivers of India, i.e. River Yamuna, River Ganga, and River Saraswati meet.

It is said that the devotees have to take a bath in this ghat before visiting the temple in Rishikesh. So, I have also done the same in this Triveni Ghat.
By taking a dip in this ghat, we become Pavitar and free of all our sins. In the evening, Maha Aarti takes place at Triveni Ghat.
Devotees visit here to see the Maha Aarti from all over the world.
You can best visit here in the evening after sunset. Triveni Ghat is also known for its shopping purpose.

Neer Garh Waterfall is situated on the highway of Rishikesh- Badrinath. It is 5 km away from Laxman Jhula.

There are many camps for river rafting at different places in Rishikesh.
The season of river rafting starts in the month of March, and it ends in the month of September. So, from the month March to September is the Best time for River Rafting.
River rafting of Rishikesh is famous in all over India. It becomes the favourite adventurous activity in Rishikesh due to the turbulent Waves of River Ganga. Post-monsoon is the Rishikesh rafting season.

Jumpin heights are the most adventurous places in the world. This is situated 20 km away from Rishikesh.

This place is closed on every Tuesday, that’s why I have visited here on Monday.
There are many sports adventures here at Jumpin Heights with rates starting from Rs. 1500/- to Rs 6000/-.

Rishi Kund

It is a hot water spring. You can be free of all your sins by bathing in this Kund.
Vashistha Cave
Vashishta cave is situated at the bank of River Ganga which is 16 km away from the Rishikesh.
This cave is known to be a famous place for Gyan in Rishikesh. This cave is surrounded by trees all over.

You can not bring things of plastic inside the cave, and photography is also not allowed inside the cave. So, I did not click any picture of mine here.

Ram Jhula

Ram Jhula is a famous tourist place to visit in Rishikesh. Ram Jhula is 3 km away from the city Rishikesh.
Ram Jhula is built above the River Ganga which is, even more, more prominent than Laxman Jhula.
This Bridge joins the Shivanand Ashram and Swarg Ashram.

There are many places to visit near Rishikesh. Here is the list of such places;
Kaudiyala
Kaudiyala in Rishikesh is famous for photography, adventure, and its nature. There is no fun in exploring Rishikesh without visiting Kaudiyala.

Rajaji National Park
Rajaji National Park is famous for its wildlife and adventures.
There is an entry ticket to enjoy at Rajaji National Park. I have paid Rs. 150/- for three hours and foreigners have to have Rs 600/- for three hours.
As I was travelling there in my car so I have also paid Rs 250/-.
This National Park is open all days a week from 6 am to 9 am and from 3 pm to 6 pm. I have thoroughly enjoyed it here within 3 hours.
This national park is situated between the Indo- Gangetic plains and the Shivalik ranges. It represents the oldest ecosystem in India.

I have also enjoyed Jeep Safari, and stayed in cottages, and also visited at Sureshwari Devi Temple here. Rajaji National Park is the best tourist place to visit in Rishikesh.
Patna Waterfall
While trekking through Rajaji National Park, I have gone through Patna Waterfall in Rishikesh.
This waterfall is popularly known for the caves of limestone. There is also a small temple inside the limestone cave which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
Through my way of trekking through the waterfall, I have found the tributary of holy River, Ganga.
Sivananda Ashram
Sivananda Ashram is located in Rishikesh, which is heaven to Earth. The Divine Life Society maintains and administers this Ashram.

Gita Bhavan
Gita Bhawan provides accommodation facility which is situated at the banks of River Ganga.
There are around 1000 comfortable rooms at free of cost for devotees. I spent a few hours dipping in the holy river Ganga.
Parmarth Niketan Ashram
Parmarth Niketan ashram is the best Yoga Centre in all over India. This ashram is situated at the banks of River Ganga.
Swami Shukdevaandad Saraswati founded this ashram in the year 1942. There is a zero-entry fee to visit the place.

Bharat Mandir
Bharat Mandir is the sacred place to visit in Rishikesh. This temple is situated in the centre of Rishikesh. It is just half km away from the Triveni Ghat.
There is a statue of God Narayana in the temple, which is made up of black stone and carved from a piece of Saligram.

Foreigners stay in hotels as well as in the tents at the river banks. Tents at the river banks are very adventurous.
Some people look for a tourist place where they can spend very little time for two days to enjoy a lot. So, Rishikesh is the best tourist place for such kind of people.
