Travel from Jaipur to Katra
Mata Vaishno Devi Travel Guide Vaishno Devi is located in Katra city in Jammu. It is situated between the Trikuta Hills. In December, I was done with the hectic schedule of the office and needed a vacation. So I made the Vaishno Devi trip planning with my 4 friends, excluding me.
The Mata Vaishno Devi travel guide will help you to know about Mata Vaishno Devi travel. So that readers will never face any issues when they visit the place. When I ask them, they were also very much excited about the trip.
And my friends I planned for the tour so we planned the Vaishno Devi yatra by train. We decided to start the tour by going to Delhi first via train. We booked the train at the very exact moment for 450 INR.

We decided to meet at Dheeraj’s home at night so that we could start the travel with each other. We met at Dheeraj’s house at 8 PM. We were very much excited about the trip as it was the best way to get rid of the hectic schedule.
We booked a cab to the railway station and went there. We were very much excited, so we reached the railway station on time. The train is supposed to come within 15 minutes, so we wait there and purchased some eatables and water bottles to make their travel more comfortable.
Now when the train arrived, we got settled in the cabin comfortably, and here our journey started. The entire night we spent having lots of fun. No one slept the whole night. We chatted and had soft drinks, chips, and other eatables. We played games as well on the train.
It was cold weather, so the environment was also so fascinating for us. In the early morning, we reached Delhi. We booked the cab and arrived at the hotel. We were very tired as we didn’t sleep at night, so after reaching the hotel, we just checked in and slept for hours.
In the evening, we just went out in Delhi and visited some malls to enjoy the rest of the time until the train arrived for Vaishno Devi (Katra). Now the time was near for the train, so we went to the hotel, freshened up and had dinner.
At night, we checked out from Hotel and booked a cab for the Delhi Railway Station. The trip to Vaishno Devi by train started here for which we were eagerly waiting.
We rested in the Hotel for the day, so now we are fully energized. We had a lot of fun on the train trip. The weather was awesome out, and travel went smoothly with the mild climate. you can also read the best Family holiday destinations in India.
Way to Vaishno Devi
The important and primary thing we felt in Katra is the cold and peaceful weather of the place. Clouds are on the head, and there is snow on the mountains. Hills are fully visible from the place. We booked a hotel in Katra, and the hotel staff itself sent a taxi for us to reach the Hotel.

We checked in the Hotel and after resting, went out for travel to Vaishno Devi. Taking pass is important for climbing up the mountains, so we took the passes from the registration department and this pass called Yatra Parchi.

No one can reach Mata temple Katra without Vaishno Devi registration passes or Yatra Parchi. There was a long line of devotees there, so we have to wait there for 30 minutes. When we started a journey and the ways were from passing through the hills.

In between the way to Vaishno Devi, a river flows out there named Banganga that comes from the Bairath hills in Jaipur and flows to Bharatpur to drains in the Yamuna. We were tired after climbing up to a few km, so I thought to rest and take food.
There are many restaurants along the way and even Café Coffee Day (CCD). We stopped at one restaurant and had some meals over there. The environment was so natural and cold, which made us feel so pleasant.
The aura of the environment was a little foggy. We were tired enough, thus moving towards the designation slowly and slowly. On the way to Vaishno Devi, we noticed people climbing up by horses and many of them are on their “Pad Yatra”.
On the way, there were small stalls situated for taking “Prashad and other necessary things) for puja. From the height, we can see the snowy mountains looking so beautiful. The environment was looking likes clouds are touching the mountains.

Here we reached the Ardhkuwari temple, located halfway to Vaishno Devi. Katra to Ardhkuwari distance is almost 11km. It is the place where Goddess Vaishno Devi stayed for nine months for meditation. People were sitting on the stairs. The Ardhkuwari temple is situated in the 15ft long cave.

Trees were there in the mountains looking so beautiful with nature. After visiting the Ardhkuwari, we had our meals and started our Journey to Bhawan. It is 7 km away from Ardhkuwari to Bhawan.
After taking our meals and soft drinks in the cold weather, we get energized and the rest of the energy we started from here. The entire forest is visible from the height, and the sun rays were striking in eyes.
“Hathi Mata ki Chadhai” is the highest peak of the way from where the way is defined for Vaishno Devi. I saw lots of monkeys there, taking a sunbath. Some were fighting with each other aggressively, and some were having chill.

There were many helicopters we saw in which people were traveling to the main Vaishno Devi temple. After walking about 3.5 km, we reached the Sanjhi Chat. From here, the Himalayan Ranges are fully visible. Ranges were covered with snow, and it was very cold at the height.
Finally, we reached the Vaishno Devi temple after a long climb. The temple was full of devotees and it is fully covered with the naturally cold weather.
The sightseeing was so good, and we joined the lane of devotees to Darshan Devi Maa. Note: Mobile phones and cameras are not allowed in the main temple (Locker facility available).

Don’t Forget to Visit Bhairon Nath Temple
After Darshan of Maa Vaishno Devi, we went for Bhairon Nath, which is about 2.5 km from Bhawan. It is believed that the journey to Vaishno Devi is incomplete if you will not visit the Bhairon Temple, so we planned to visit there.

It is said that when Maa Devi killed Bahiron, the head feel down at this place and the rest of the body stayed at the entrance of the cave. Now Darshan of Bhairon Nath is done. Here also, there was a huge range of devotees present.
At this place, our journey ends with Vaishno Devi, and now we have to step back for Katra. We were smiling and satisfied with the completion of our journey. We were very happy that our journey ends without any issues.
Returning Back Journey
We step back with horses due to the tiredness of the body. After reaching Katra, it is time to have some Vaishno Devi food. We were very much famished at the time, so rather than going to the hotel, we decided to look for a restaurant and have some meals.
We ordered Aloo-Paratha with curd, Masala Dosa, which was really very delicious. We went to the hotels after taking breakfast as our body was not in a state to put in any hassle now. After taking a rest, we step out to roam in the Katra market.
Dry Fruits of Katra is very famous, so we purchased it. The market was so traditional and cool. It was attracting the eyes of everyone. The fragrance of masalas, dry fruits, and other things was so mesmerizing over there.

The Trikuta Mountain was looking so calm and charming. The Mata Vaishno Devi travel blog helps a lot in making travel better for the other visitors who are going for their first time.
Here we ended with Mata Vaishno Devi travel and booked the return tickets to Jaipur. No doubt, the way we travel, the food stalls in between the traveling way, mountains, natural beauty, and sightseeing was so attractive. Visiting the place in life for once is worth it.
