So, its downtown which is located in Natchez and this building was sorted in 1769. King Tavern is the oldest of all things in the river port city.
During the time of British, this oldest building was established near the Fort Panmure, and this building was made to block house just for the fort.
The sawmill was not near the frontier town. So, the building was constructed with the use of the beams, which were the part of the Orleans sailing ships and these ships were brought to Natchez with the help of mule.
The wood used for the King’s Tavern building for the construction was from flat riverboats, but those were dismantled and were sold in Natchez as they arrived just after traveling down the Ohioan Mississippi Rivers.
Boatmen were not able to take away their flatboats back to these rivers, so to get the profit they sold out the boats as wood which were brought to build Natchez.
