How to Relieve Hip Pain after Traveling

If you are a person who experiences daily pain in your hips, then you are probably aware of how much of an effect it can have on your daily life. It does not matter if the cause is arthritis or bursitis, hip pain can really get in the way of you living a normal life. 

However, there is good news and things do not have to remain like this forever. Let us take a closer look at some of the things that you can do in order to get relief from hip pain. 

Exercise First Thing In the Morning

This is an extremely useful idea for anyone who is suffering from hip pain. Start your day off with some form of exercise and you will feel the difference it makes in your life. 

Doing something like a bridge exercise can really help you get your muscles working properly, stay activated and also engaged. This will ensure that you get the proper amount of support during the rest of the day. 

Try this out lie down on your back and have your legs be bent. Your feet should also be totally flat on the floor and should be about a hip-width away from each other. 

You should then proceed to pressing down through the ankles and then try to lift your buttocks while tightening the abdominal muscles. 

Use Ice if You Have Inflammation

If you notice that any of your joint is inflamed then icing that particular joint can help with lowering inflammation and also give you relief from hip pain. 

If the pain is really bad, you should do it at least four or five times per day for a period of about 15 minutes. A good idea may be to use an ice pack, get a towel wrapped around the pack, and then proceed to putting it where the pain is most obvious. 

Heat if You Have Arthritis

If you have arthritis, then a nice hot bath or shower can really help in getting relief from your pain in the joints.

One thing to make sure that you do not apply heat if the cause of your pain is bursitis. This is because it can really make the inflammation worse. 

Stretch if You Have Bursitis

If the cause of your hip pain is Bursitis, then stretching the muscles of the hip can really help you in getting relief from your pain. You should try to kneel onto the leg that is causing pain while holding something to give you some form of balance. 

You should then tilt the muscles of your pelvic a bit forward and also tighten up the gluteus muscles. After this, try to lean in the opposite direction from the hip that is causing the pain. 

You should able to feel the stretching when you are doing it. The stretch should held for about 30 seconds and then repeated a couple of times. 

Make Your Inner Thighs Stronger

This is another very important group of muscles that help support the muscles in your hips. A good way to achieve the desired results is to put a ball in between the knees and then to squeeze it. 

Choose a ball that is about the same size as a kickball. You can also make use of a pillow that is or you can also use rings for Pilates. 

Try Light Therapy

A lot of studies have been conducted on the matter and they have all concluded that red light therapy is an extremely effective treatment for all kinds of chronic bodily pain and also for inflammation. 

This means it can really have a positive effect on those who are living with hip pain. The studies have also shown that red light therapy is one of the safest forms of therapy out there in the market today. It has almost no side-effects according to these studies. 

Light therapy, or Red Light Therapy, is a form of therapy that has gotten extremely popular these days. The way it works is it basically tries to emulate the natural light of the outdoors in an indoor setting.

The device used in order to make this brilliant light is usually capable of producing light that is about 10,000 lux units strong. 

Try to Make Your Outer Thighs Stronger

If you want to relieve hip pain arthritis, then you should really work in making sure that the muscles you have within your outer thighs are as strong as possible. This will provide a lot of added support. 

You should try to lie on the side that you don’t have any pain in and then proceed to lifting the affected leg to a height of six inches. Make sure you stay in that position for about three seconds before lowering the leg again. 

Note that this exercise can cause more pain if the reason for your pain is bursitis.

Try Working Out in Water

Exercises done in water are absolutely fantastic for you if you want to relieve hip pain. Swimming and other types of aerobic exercise done in water are very good for your joints. 

When you exercise in water you will strengthen your muscles but you won’t put it through as much stress as you otherwise would have to. 

Activities that are High-Impact Should be Avoided

Know that not all forms of exercise are suitable for you if you want relieve hip pain. Exercises that are high-impact should really be avoided. Examples of this kind of exercise are cardio exercises like jumping and running.
