History of Panna Meena ka Kund: 

Panna Meena ka Kund, Jaipur, is a 16th-century Stepwell built during the reign of Raja Man Singh I. This Stepwell was needed because water was scarce in the dry land around the Amber Fort area. 

Raja Man Singh, I commissioned the Stepwell in 1522 AD as a water source for Amber Fort residents and soldiers. ‘Panna’ and ‘Meena’ refer to the architects who designed and constructed this octagonal-shaped Stepwell. The well is named after them. 

For many years, the Stepwell provided water and relief from heat to kings, queens, and people. Its beautiful carvings and designs showcase excellent craftsmanship that has endured through time.
