The statue is a quintessence of liberty in the configuration of a woman. She takes a torch in her uplift right palm and holds a panel in her left palm.

History behind why this Statue was made:

In 1865 when a Frenchman whose name was Edouard de Laboulaye offered the plan of giving a historical present from the tribe of France to the tribe of the U.S.A.

History of the Bedloe’s Island:

From 1620 to many years, the Bedloe’s island had been in the service of the local Americans as residents. The island was a great origin of subsistence ascribed to its high crawfish inhabitants.

Later, the West Germanic started to come there to establish a colony in addition to the small-scale islands inhabiting the marina appointing them the three “Oyster Islands”.

After many years, a West Germanic whose name is “Isaac Bedloe ” collects possession of this island. The Island was renamed as Love Island in the mid 16s because the Governor Francis LoveLace told Isacc Bedloe’s that your possession is continued if you change this island name.

After some years from being renamed this island, the LoveLace is removed from power by the West Germanic and Isaac Bedloe dies. The name changes from Love Island to Bedloe’s Island.

Mary Bedloe Smith, who is Isaac’s Wife, gives the island to the trader of New York City to keep away from insolvency. In the mid 17s, New York took ownership of the Bedloe’s Island for use as a quarantine station. It has been distributed as a quarantine station for many years, the island was purchased by Archibald Kennedy.

From 1772 to 1794, between the Revolutionary War, it was used as a shelter for frontiers. In the early 18s the island was confirmed as a military shafts.

In 1871, Frederic Auguste Batholdi visited America for possible locations for the Statue of Liberty. He selects Bedloe’s island as the great spot for the statue. In 1956 Bedloe’s Island was renamed as Liberty Island.
