The temple serves as the heart of the city and is built on a large raised platform.

The wall of this temple is pierced by four different gates that face the four different directions.

One is the lion gate that faces the east direction, the elephant gate facing the north side, the horse gate facing the south, and the tiger gate facing the west side.

When I had arrived, I had entered from the front of Lion’s gate. There I saw a monolithic pillar which is around 10 meters in height.

Moreover, immediately when I was moving in the forward direction, then I felt on a flight of steps. Also, the history of the flight of steps is not yet revealed which serves as the mystery about this temple.

Also, when I had entered the temple, then I found a vast kitchen area on the left side. So I thought that this temple could serve as the most prominent hotel across the world.

How food was prepared was so hygienic. I was completely surprised by the traditional process of the temple.

Jwalamukhi Temple

This temple is located across the Kangra Valley which is found in the lap of Shivalik range. Also, this is dedicated to Goddess Jwalamukhi who is the deity of Flaming Mouth.

According to many historians, Akbar who was the great Mughal emperor had visited the temple.

It is said that Akbar had presented a gold umbrella for the goddess and it was turned into copper.

When I visited inside the temple, then I found a hollowed rock over the primary flame of the temple. Also, it is said that this is regarded as the mouth of the Goddess Mahakali.

Even I saw that the fire was emitting out of the other points in the pit. They are total none flames that represent a different form of the goddess.

Best Time to Visit Jwalamukhi Temple:

The temple gets opened at 5:00 am, and Mangal Aarti takes place from 5:00 am to 6:00 am.

Evening Aarti takes place from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The temple is closed at 9:00 or 10:00 pm.
